We often incorporate playdough into our themed classes, the children just love it. It really is an amazing way for children to be creative, it can become whatever they wish. We love to add in exciting playdough props to make the experience even more fun. This term some of our favourite have been icy animal and space/moon playdough. Happy Valentines
It was all about love and hearts at art explorers this week. Coffee filters were transformed into funky hearts with lots of ink and water dropped on with pipettes. Watching the colours merge and create new colours always mesmerises me as much as the little ones! To do this at home you need the big round unbleached coffee filters. Winter wonderland
Brrrrr! Its been so cold outside this week, we even had enough snow to make snowmen so it seemed like a good time to focus on winter weather. The art explorers really concentrated on sticking down tape to make paint resist snowflakes. They then used fantastic fine motor skills to tear tissue paper and foil to make a snow man collage. Dinosaur stomp
Grrrrrrr! The dinosaurs came for a stomp at todays class! If you fancy trying this at home simply gather together some plastic dinosaurs, squeeze some poster paints onto a tray or plate and let those dinosaurs stomp in the paint and onto paper.
